Alosetron Hydrochloride is a potent and highly selective serotonin 5-HT3 receptor antagonist used in research for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). It blocks the fast 5HT3-mediated depolarization of guinea-pig myenteric and submucosal neurons, with an IC50 of approximately 55 nM.
